Pittsburgh Steelers quarterback Ben Roethlisberger appreciated fans who came out to watch him at Heinz Field.

Big Ben went out with a win at Heinz Field on Monday night against the Cleveland Browns, although he didn’t play that well in the second half. Najee Harris helped carry the Steelers to victory with over 100 yards rushing, and a clinching touchdown in the final minute.

Roethlisberger got the chance to kneel it out, and that’s when the emotions hit him. After a television interview with ESPN and local radio, Roethlisberger took everything in, running a lap around the field and thanking fans individually.

As if that weren’t enough, Roethlisberger and his wife thanked fans via a statement on social media.

“My family and I are overwhelmed with the love and support we have received around last night’s game. We are truly grateful for every one of you,” Roethlisberger says.

Steelers: Ben Roethlisberger thankful for fans’ support

Roethlisberger and the Steelers have a very small chance to make the playoffs, so Monday’s game was almost certainly his final game at Heinz Field, while next Sunday will be his last game in general against the rival Baltimore Ravens.

If the Colts were to lose with the Jaguars next week, then the Steelers would make the Wild Card round win a win over the Ravens.

However, the Jaguars don’t have much to play for — if anything, they have a lot to lose for. A defeat at the hands of the Colts would guarantee the No. 1 pick for Jacksonville. This would be the second year in a row the Jaguars select first overall. 2021 No. 1 overall pick Trevor Lawrence still has plenty to prove after a tough rookie year.

All in all, Sunday should be another appreciation of Roethlisberger, even from rival fans who have grown to loathe him over the years.
