1. Tony Pollard will get 20+ carries

The Cowboys abandoned the run game early against the Cardinals last week after falling behind. The simple truth is that Dallas was horribly inefficient on the ground against Arizona last week. That’s a growing trend for Mike McCarthy’s offense.

Ezekiel Elliott led the team in carries with nine but only scraped out a pitiful total of 16 yards rushing. Pollard only got three carries for nine yards but he also gave his offense 49 receiving yards on three catches.

That’s why he’s going to get the majority of his team’s carries in Week 18. It’s an overdue change for the Cowboys given just how bad Elliott has been for most of the year. Even if Dallas wants to lean on Elliott more in the postseason they’d be well-served to give him a week off to finish the regular season.

Next. Aaron Rodgers is mad at the Packers' coaching staff (again). dark

Add it all up and Pollard should be in line for a heavy workload. 20 carries is pushing what he should soak up in a given week, but a healthy percentage of his carries will be slashing runs on the perimeter. Expect 20+ carries and possibly even a 100-yard day on the ground for Dallas’ top running back on the season.
