2022 NFL Mock Draft: Houston Texans pass on a QB, stick with Davis Mills

Picks No. 15 through 18

player. 15. . Wide Receiver. New Orleans Saints. Jameson Williams. 15

The New Orleans Saints have really struggled in terms of the quarterback spot this season, even having to start 2021 fourth-round pick Ian Book in primetime. Next season, the hope is that they can get a healthy Jameis Winston back, as I believe Sean Payton can get him pointed in the right direction.

If the Saints do decide to keep Winston as their quarterback, they need to get him some more weapons, and Jameson Williams from Alabama could be the pick here at No. 15 overall. Williams is having a breakout season for the Crimson Tide and would be an excellent wideout within Payton’s offense in Year 1.

Offensive Lineman. Baltimore Ravens. Kenyon Green. 16. player. 26.

The Baltimore Ravens are still technically alive in the AFC Playoff race, but they have a lot of work to do. Sitting at 8-8 heading into Week 18, they not only have to win their game, but they are going to need a lot of help to punch their ticket to the postseason.

Likely, that will not happen, but this franchise is in good shape, especially with Lamar Jackson coming back healthy for 2022. Their pick here at No. 16 should be some offensive line help for Jackson, and Kenyon Green is a guy who could play inside or out at the next level.

Quarterback. Pittsburgh Steelers. Sam Howell. 17. player. 55.

With their win over the Cleveland Browns on Monday night, the Pittsburgh Steelers kept their fleeting playoff chances alive. Like the Ravens, they need a lot of help this weekend, and the likelihood is that they will miss the playoffs in what is likely to be Ben Roethlisberger’s final season with the franchise.

Replacing Big Ben will be tough, and some believe that they will roll with Mason Rudolph under center in 2022. That could prove to be a mistake, and at pick No. 17, they get their next franchise quarterback in UNC Tar Heels star Sam Howell.

Las Vegas Raiders. Chris Olave. 18. player. 28. . Wide Receiver

Incredibly, the Las Vegas Raiders are still alive in the AFC Playoff hunt and can punch their ticket to the postseason with a win over the Los Angeles Chargers in Week 18. After everything this franchise has gone through this season, that would be an incredible accomplishment and is a real testament to Derek Carr’s leadership.

Looking ahead to the 2022 NFL Draft, Las Vegas needs help at wide receiver, especially after what happened with 2020 first-round pick, Henry Ruggs III this season. Chris Olave is a guy who could come in and make a real impact in Year 1, teaming with the likes of Hunter Renfrow and Zay Jones on the outside.
