2022 NFL Mock Draft: Houston Texans pass on a QB, stick with Davis Mills

Picks No. 23 through 25

New England Patriots. Andrew Booth Jr.. 23. player. 47. . Cornerback

After one year out of the playoffs, the New England Patriots are back in it and have a chance to win the AFC East in Week 18. It has been an incredible comeback for the franchise, and they certainly have found their future at the quarterback position in former Alabama star Mac Jones.

Here, the Patriots turn their attention to the defensive side of the ball, adding Clemson cornerback Andrew Booth Jr. Booth is widely considered a top-3 cornerback in this draft class, so he may not be available this late in round one, but if he is, he fills an immediate need in this Patriots secondary.

Cornerback. Arizona Cardinals. Kaiir Elam. 24. player. 32.

The Arizona Cardinals are going to be a tough out in the playoffs, as quarterback Kyler Murray can hurt a team in so many ways. The offense has so many weapons but could add some talent along the offensive line here, though we have them looking towards the defensive side of the ball here at pick No. 24 overall.

With this pick, the Cardinals bolster the defensive backfield, adding Florida cornerback Kaiir Elam. Some feel that Elam could be selected in the first half of the first round, but if he is here at pick No. 24, he instantly upgrades one of the weaker position groups on this Cardinals defense.

Trent McDuffie. 25. player. 16. . Cornerback. Buffalo Bills

In Week 17, the Buffalo Bills picked up a huge victory against the Atlanta Falcons, battling it out in the snow in what turned out to be a very competitive game early on. With a chance to win the AFC East in Week 18, the Bills have an easy go, as they take on the lowly New York Jets.

Looking at their roster, the Bills need some help at the cornerback spot, and Trent McDuffie from Washington is the third cornerback selected in this mock draft in a row. McDuffie would be an excellent complement to Tre’Davious White, who is considered one of the best cornerbacks in the NFL.
