2022 NFL Mock Draft: Houston Texans pass on a QB, stick with Davis Mills
Picks No. 26 through 28
One thing is for sure, the Cincinnati Bengals certainly got it right in back-to-back drafts, selecting Joe Burrow in 2020, and then his LSU teammate Ja’Marr Chase in 2021. Chase has been the AFC’s Rookie of the Year this season, and this combination have the Bengals as a team to beat in the AFC.
In the 2022 NFL Draft, the Bengals have to do something with their offensive line, as protecting Burrow is paramount to their continued success. One player to target could be Trevor Penning, a player from a small school who plays at a very high level, and could be used all over this Bengals offensive line.
It is going to be interesting to see how far the Dallas Cowboys go in the playoffs, as they have the talent to make a run, but are very inconsistent. Dallas could be making a change at head coach next offseason if they struggle in the playoffs, and they could find their next head coach in-house with either Kellen Moore or Dan Quinn.
Looking ahead to the 2022 NFL Draft, the Cowboys need some help along the defensive line, bringing in a defensive tackle to team with their elite edge rushers. Jordan Davis from Georgia is ticketed for the first round and would be an excellent run-stopper in Dallas for years to come.
The Tampa Bay Buccaneers may have beaten the New York Jets in Week 17, but they were also a victim of incredible embarrassment, as Antonio Brown stripped down and left the field during the game. With AB gone, the Bucs have a hole in their wide receiver corps, and it could be a position group to target this April.
In the first round, there are some elite players in the position group, and USC’s Drake London is certainly one of them. He could rise in a big way during the draft process, but if he is available at No. 28 overall, the Bucs need to run their index card to the commissioner.
