5 teams that Baker Mayfield could be traded to if Browns move on from former No. 1 pick

The Washington Football Team will have a new name, maybe a new quarterback?
One thing Mayfield did show during his time in Cleveland is that he at times can play with a chip on his shoulder and elevate a chaotic organization around him. The franchise that seems to check that box the best over in the NFC is the Washington Football Team. No matter what they end up calling themselves beginning on Groundhog Day, Mayfield is an upgrade over Taylor Heinicke.
An advantage to going to a place like Washington for Mayfield is he will be tasked with being a glorified game-manager on a defense-first football team. Head coach Ron Rivera and defensive coordinator Jack Del Rio have that side of the ball covered. Mayfield will need better protection up front, but there are a lot of personnel similarities between Cleveland and what Washington has.
Baker Mayfield could become the next Drew Brees with the New Orleans Saints
While Washington is actually a pretty good fit for Mayfield, the best potential landing spot for him has to be the New Orleans Saints. Mayfield has said before that he patterns his game after Drew Brees, the greatest player in Saints franchise history. With the Saints in flux at the quarterback position after Brees’ retirement, he could come in and run the same offense for Sean Payton.
New Orleans is not all that far from his native Austin, Texas. Not only that, but the NFC South is not in great shape long-term at the quarterback position. Tom Brady and Matt Ryan are winding down in Tampa Bay and Atlanta, respectively. The Carolina Panthers are a complete mess in the second year of Matt Rhule’s reign in Charlotte. Mayfield is worth starting games over Taysom Hill.
Even if it is coming to an end in Cleveland, Mayfield will have a robust trade market this offseason.
