For the second straight year, the Dolphins would finish with a winning record. However, it would once again not result in a trip to the playoffs. Brian Flores’ team got a big effort from running back Duke Johnson, who totaled 25 carries for 117 yards and one score.

Miami’s defense allowed 379 total yards but the opportunistic ‘Fins came up with three takeaways – including a 37-yard interception return for a TD by Xavien Howard in the first quarter.

A win over the rival Falcons coupled with a 49ers’ loss to the Rams would put Sean Payton’s team in the playoffs for the fifth consecutive year. It’s been a rough year for the club and Sunday’s win epitomized a season in which the club started four different quarterbacks.

Taysom Hill threw for one score but would eventually exit the game. Trevor Siemian finished with 71 yards through the air and two TDs. And Alvin Kamara ran 30 times for 146 yards.

Off last week’s home loss to the Raiders, Frank Reich’s squad could still reach the playoffs if they could knock off the struggling Jaguars at Jacksonville. And the Colts’ woes in this series continued as they dropped their seventh straight road game, including a contest in London, dating back to 2015.

Reich’s team was limited to 233 total yards and Jonathan Taylor ran for only 77 yards. Carson Wentz was sacked six times and committed a pair of turnovers.
