6. Travon Walker, Georgia defensive lineman

A versatile defensive lineman from the dominant Georgia defense, Travon Walker is undoubtedly the top pass rusher to watch in this year’s National Championship Game when it comes to the 2022 NFL Draft alone (Will Anderson Jr. is not draft eligible).

In what is a loaded draft class full of talented edge rushers, you could certainly make the argument that Walker is one of the more-intriguing names that is not currently expected to go in the first round. Yes, names such as Hutchinson, Thibodeaux, and Karlaftis will dominate the pre-draft process at the position, but don’t sleep on the talented junior.

A likely second round pick at the moment, Walker is an intriguing prospect at 6-foot-5 and 275 pounds who can line up both inside and outside along the defensive front, and excels with his speed and agility in the trenches where he has collected a career-high five sacks on the year.

While there is always the possibility that Walker could return to Georgia in 2022, his versatility and athleticism alone along the defensive line will be intriguing to NFL teams, something that will be evident when watching Walker on Monday night. If he does choose to go to the NFL at season’s end, don’t be surprised at all if Walker ends up rising to a first round pick.
