5 trades Yankees can make once the lockout ends

Matt Olson – First Baseman
Matt Olson has been one player consistently tied to the New York Yankees. The Oakland Athletics are selling this offseason. They made that clear. Matt Olson is their best trade chip, and it could get some great Yankees prospects in return. The Yankees are dealing with some inconsistency at first base. Rizzo is a free agent, and Luke Voit has had trouble staying on the field. The A’s are asking for the moon in an Olson trade, and the Yankees can provide the return they want.
Olson would immediately take the Yankees lineup to another stratosphere. Putting Olson in between Aaron Judge and Giancarlo Stanton would give the Yankees one of the most potent middles of the lineup in the league. In the home-run-happy Yankee Stadium, Olson could build on his 39 home run status.
Olson is still just 27 years old. If he stays healthy, he could be one of the premier players in the league. However, it’s going to cost the Yankees some pretty good players and prospects to make it happen.
Olson is probably the Yankees top pick for first baseman considering Freeman is a longshot at best. Olson would be in his prime alongside most of the other Yankees stars, but it’s a major price they would have to pay.
