Green Bay Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers is still not happy about the now dispelled rumor that he would hold out of the Super Bowl.

Last week, a rumor began making rounds that Green Bay Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers would hold out of the Super Bowl to protest the NFL’s COVID-19 protocols. That was read via text message by Boomer Esiason during the “Boomer and Gio” show on WFAN in New York that circulated as a viral clip on social media but was dispelled by him and co-host Gregg Giannotti.

Even so, Rodgers took the time during his weekly appearance on “The Pat McAfee Show,” to further express how angry he is about it. You can listen to Rodgers’ comments in the tweet below.

When watching the five-minute clip above, you can tell that Rodgers is still not happy about that story spreading like wildfire.

The Funhouse Twitter account had clipped a portion of the show in which the Rodgers rumor was read on air. But, the account tweeted out an apology, saying that they did not catch the WFAN morning show hosts determining on-air that they were being pranked.

Rodgers responded to the clip in a tweet of his own, with backup quarterbacks Jordan Love and Kurt Benkert joining in.

Rumor aside, Rodgers and the Packers are currently on a bye week, by way of earning the top seed in the NFC with a 13-4 record. They will await the lowest seed that emerges from Wild Card weekend and host them at Lambeau Field in the Divisional Round. Green Bay looks to make the Super Bowl for the first time since the 2010 season.
