Antonio Brown said the painfully obvious about his exit from MetLife Stadium during the Tampa Bay Buccaneers’ Week 17 game.
Antonio Brown has been in the news for the better part of over a week after he decided to walk out of MetLife Stadium without a shirt. That came after a sideline disagreement with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers coaching staff, leading to him taking off his uniform, walking away from the team and leading to his release.
When speaking with TMZ on Monday, Brown said that the way he exited the Buccaneers’ game against the New York Jets “probably wasn’t necessary or professional.”

During the tirade on the sidelines, Brown took off his jersey and shoulder pads, before throwing his shirt and gloves into the stands. That is when he ran in the end zone while Tampa Bay’s offense was on the field. Following the game, head coach Bruce Arians said that Brown was “no longer a Buc.”
Browns’ release from the Buccaneers was not immediate, as the team was figuring out what to do before placing him on waivers. But after the wide receiver posted text messages allegedly from Arians, the release became official. Brown had alleged that he was forced to play through an ankle injury, which the team denied in a statement after they cut him.
The NFL did not fine him for his actions in the Week 17 game.
The wide receiver ended his season with the Buccaneers catching 42-of-62 targets 545 yards and four touchdowns.
After his exit from the Buccaneers, it is unknown if Brown will receive another shot from an NFL team.
