One Georgia Bulldogs fan may have been just a bit too overhyped after his team won the National Championship on Monday night.

The long wait is finally over for Georgia Bulldogs fans. The program hadn’t won the National Championship since 1980, but things changed on Monday with UGA taking down Nick Saban and the Alabama Crimson Tide.

As soon as the final whistle arrived, Georgia fans were overcome with emotion. Having said that, one fan in particular decided to rush the field and he didn’t make it very far before police got to him. Matter of fact, he was arrested for going a little overboard with his celebration.

While this guy probably didn’t want to leave Lucas Oil Stadium in handcuffs, some might argue that this was worth it. Georgia has long been waiting for this moment. Alabama has seemingly had the team’s number over the years, but things changed in a big way this time around.

In Monday’s victory, Stetson Bennett was sharp, throwing for 224 yards and two touchdowns. Zamir White also had himself a strong showing on the ground, as he rushed for 84 yards and a touchdown.

While Alabama threatened late to potentially tie the game up, Bryce Young tossed a pick-six and everyone inside the stadium went wild — that is if they were rooting for the Bulldogs. There’s no question one of the people to go insane was the man who hopped over the railing to get himself onto the field.

He wasn’t alone, as several other people made the leap too. Hey, he may have gotten arrested, but at least he’ll be able to tell his grandkids one day that he watched Georgia win the natty over Alabama. It’s something he’ll never forget.
