1. Micah Parsons — Dallas Cowboys

The Dallas Cowboys have been one of the better teams in the NFC this season, but the defense has been what’s keeping them as a rock-solid unit. They are being led by two young players. Trevon Diggs is leading the league in interceptions in his second season. He’s a ballhawk who has the timing down. However, he’s not even making the biggest impact on the Cowboys’ defense. That goes to rookie out of Penn State Micah Parsons.

Parsons missed the last game of the season after he was placed on the COVID-19 list, and as long as he can come back fully healthy, he will be a dominant force in the NFC playoffs. The Cowboys have a bad history in the postseason. They haven’t made it past the Divisional Round of the playoffs since winning the Super Bowl in the 1995-96 season.

If the Cowboys even make it to the NFC Championship Game, the entire media landscape will pause to send Dallas their flowers. That will come with praise for the stars on the team, and that praise is definitely deserved for Parsons.

Parsons had such an impact on the Cowboys’ defense. From play to play, he is destroying opposing offenses. His pass-rushing ability is his best asset, and if he faces someone like Kyler Murray and Aaron Rodgers, and he sacks them two or three times apiece, he will jump into the upper echelon of pass rushers.
