2022 NFL Mock Draft: Draft order set for first 18 picks

Picks No. 4 through 6

Safety. New York Jets. Kyle Hamilton. 4. player. 30.

The New York Jets hold two of the top-10 picks in the 2022 NFL Draft, which is a good thing considering how much talent they need to bring in this offseason. Robert Saleh had a tough first season at the helm, but the Jets saw enough good things from him for his job to be secure for the 2022 campaign and beyond.

With pick No. 4 overall, the Jets address their secondary, bringing in one of the more NFL-ready players in this draft class in Kyle Hamilton. This is a kid who is a physical freak of nature and will be a Day 1 starter for a defensive backfield that needs all the help they can get heading into Year 2 of the Saleh era.

5. player. 31. . Offensive Lineman. New York Giants. Ikem Ekwonu

Picking right after the team that shares MetLife Stadium with them, the New York Giants have a lot of work to do this offseason. Dave Gettleman has announced his retirement, but Joe Judge will remain as the head coach, which is one of the more puzzling decisions this franchise has made in quite some time.

At pick No. 5 overall, the Giants have to do what Gettleman said he would do, and that fixes the offensive line. Ikem Ekwonu should be the second offensive lineman off the board, and with his ability to play tackle or guard at the next level, the Giants get another big man up front to build around.

Quarterback. Carolina Panthers. Matt Corral. 6. player. 87.

The Carolina Panthers have made the decision that they will bring back head coach Matt Rhule for the 2022 season, so take that information however you want to. Rhule has not had much success since taking over in Carolina, and the quarterback position was an absolute mess this past season.

With pick No. 6 overall, the Panthers may be inclined to take the first quarterback off the board, and they do so here with Ole Miss signal-caller Matt Corral. Corral had an outstanding season for Ole Miss but was injured during the bowl game, so that is something to keep an eye on during the draft cycle.
