As the Seattle Seahawks figure out what they want their future to look like, they’ll need to figure out who will lead the team going forward.

The Seattle Seahawks have some soul-searching to do. The Seahawks had a relatively rough season this year as they posted a 7-10 record. Now, with rumors swirling, it’s hard to tell if Seattle will commit to a full on rebuild or if they’ll try to stay the course and trust the coaches and players they have to get back to winning going forward.

Seattle will need to make some tweaks to its roster if it doesn’t want to go all in on a rebuild, but will the Seahawks need to find some new coaches as well? What about Seattle head coach Pete Carroll?

Should the Seahawks move on from their current head coach and find someone new? Matt Hasselbeck seems to believe that Carroll can continue to guide the Seahawks to find some wins and have success going forward.

Seattle Seahawks: Matt Hasselbeck shows support for Seahawks head coach Pete Carroll

Hasselbeck, who currently works for 710 ESPN, a radio station in Seattle, said the Seahawks were at their best this season when they followed “the formula that Pete Carroll believes in.”

That formula, according to Hasselbeck, includes “protecting the football, not turning it over, being balanced, dominating the line of scrimmage, competing at every opportunity.”

Hasselbeck, who played in the NFL from 1998 to 2015, is certainly familiar with the Seahawks as he played in Seattle from 2001 to 2010. He’s also seen plenty of teams and knows a number of coaches thanks to his time in the NFL. He’s a pretty good person to trust when it comes to asking what it takes to win.

So, when Hasselbeck says to trust a coach, maybe folks should trust a coach.

Carroll has been a successful coach for a long time. The 70-year-old has won at a high level with the Seahawks for much of his tenure in Seattle, including winning a Super Bowl back in 2013 and coming close to claiming another in 2014.
