Scouting Report. S. player. 123. Pick Analysis. Georgia. Lewis Cine. 2

Lewis Cine is the safety prospect Cowboys fans have wanted for so long

You’d be hard-pressed to find a fan of America’s Team that hasn’t been crying out for the organization to address the hole at safety that’s been present for several years at this point. Damontae Kazee and Jayron Kearse performed admirably there this past season, but they are stopgap options more than someone they can bank on for the long, long haul.

This isn’t going to be a mock draft in which Dallas just picks their players from the national champion Georgia Bulldogs but, if they want to finally find someone who can step into that role at safety, then they should indeed look to Athens and grab Dean’s teammate in Lewis Cine.

Perhaps Cine’s best game of the year came in the National Championship Game when he was a stalwart against an Alabama offnese that torched them in the SEC title game. He’s a terrific tackler and run defender, which could bring what Kearse did but with more versatility. That’s because Cine has the requisite athletic traits to also excel in coverage as well.

If the Cowboys want to find an answer to the long-standing need at safety, they shouldn’t look any further than Lewis Cine, particularly if he only costs a second-round pick.
