The Green Bay Packers will have Jaire Alexander, but not David Bakhtiari available for the NFC Divisional Round game vs. the San Francisco 49ers on Saturday night.

While the Green Bay Packers got good news on cornerback Jaire Alexander ahead of Saturday night’s playoff game vs. the San Francisco 49ers, they did not receive the same on offensive tackle David Bakhtiari.

When healthy, these are two of the Packers’ 10 best players on the team. However, they have been limited to a combined five games played in a 17-game regular season. Bakhtiari made his season debut in Week 18 vs. the Detroit Lions. Alexander has not played since early October. While the cornerback is good to go on Saturday, the left tackle will once again be held out for Green Bay.

The top-seeded Packers are a sizable home favorite over the 49ers in the NFC Divisional Round.

Green Bay Packers injury update: CB Jaire Alexander in, OT David Bakhtiari out

While getting either player back would be huge for the Packers, not having Bakhtiari once again is massive. Though this game will be played at home, the 49ers have an excellent pass rush. Not having a perennial Pro Bowler along the offensive line could make things challenging for starting quarterback Aaron Rodgers. Then again, the Packers won 13 games without Bakhtiari this season.

As far as getting back Alexander, this is great for the Packers going forward. 49ers quarterback Jimmy Garoppolo is prone to making a bad decision with the football every now and then. The former Louisville standout cornerback sure is an opportunistic one in the Green Bay defensive backfield. If Green Bay wants to beat the 49ers, he might need to make a big play or two for them.

Perhaps Bakhtiari will be healthy enough to make his return during the NFC Championship Game?
