3 Buccaneers who won’t be back next year after crushing playoff loss
By John Buhler
Richard Sherman was not healthy this year and could be hanging up the spikes
Unfortunately, it might be the end of the line for Richard Sherman. The former All-Pro cornerback with the Seattle Seahawks looks to be running on fumes in his Pro Football Hall of Fame career. Though he will not be a first-ballot inductee, he will be getting into Canton one day based on his Seattle greatness and that one good year he had while he was with the 2019 San Francisco 49ers.
Off-the-field issues and another injury-riddled season makes us wonder if Sherman will play another snap in the NFL. He will be 34 years old next season, but he has only played in double-digit games twice since leaving the Seahawks after the 2017 campaign. The best ability is availability and Sherman has not been that for the better part of a decade. He may just retire.
Sherman is an incredibly intelligent man with presumably so much more he can offer the world outside of the football field. He has that Stanford education and is absolutely incredible when speaking into a microphone. While he hoped to help the Buccaneers repeat as Super Bowl champions, the team seemed to do just fine without him. Who knows what is next for Sherman?
Overall, the Buccaneers must reevaluate this roster to see if they can get back to the Super Bowl.
