There is a chance Tom Brady is playing in the last game of his unforgettable NFL career.

With the Tampa Bay Buccaneers struggling mightily vs. the Los Angeles Rams in the first half of their NFC Divisional Round game, this could be the last game of Tom Brady’s hall-of-fame career.

Though Brady is under contract through next season and has previously expressed interest about playing until he is 45 years old, Brady remains noncommittal towards playing in the 2022 NFL season. ESPN’s Jeff Darlington and Adam Schefter have reported that this topic of Brady potentially retiring has bubbled to the surface in recent weeks within the Buccaneers organization.

The expectation is for Brady to take at least a month after the season ends to see where he is at.

Tom Brady retirement rumors: Is this the final game of his illustrious NFL career?

Since this is the playoffs, it would be Brady’s last game of the year if the Buccaneers do lose to the visiting Rams. While he did win his seventh Super Bowl and his first in Tampa Bay uniform last year, it is hard to imagine Brady will hang up the spikes after potentially a rough home loss to Los Angeles. Then again, he lose in the AFC Wild Card round in his final New England Patriots game.

So is this it for Brady? Only time will tell. However, one would think he would do the retirement tour during his last NFL season. He may not want the overwhelming praise that would surely come from it, but we have to believe other NFL organizations would love to pay the greatest player in league history the respect he deserves before he does call it a career. We have to wait.

This all really comes down to how Brady feels physically and if his family will let him play at 45.
