Ronda Rousey hasn’t been seen in WWE in several years but could the former Raw Women’s Champion and UFC legend return at Royal Rumble?

There is no more prominent time for pro wrestlers to make their return to WWE than at the Royal Rumble pay-per-view. The Rumble match itself sets up for those types of surprises, in addition to debuts, comebacks from injury and so on. And former Raw Women’s Champion and UFC legend Ronda Rousey could be getting into that mix.

Though it’s not confirmed with less than a week until the PPV event takes place in St. Louis, MO, it appears as though a Rousey return is what the company wants.

As reported by Sean Ross Sapp of Fightful, WWE is pushing hard to get Rousey to make her return at Royal Rumble.

Ronda Rousey WWE return: Former Raw Women’s Champion rumored to be at Royal Rumble

Prior to joining WWE in a much-publicized move in 2018 (where she incidentally debuted at the Rumble), Rousey was a decorated UFC champion and won a bronze medal in Judo back in 2008.

As for her time in the pro wrestling industry, though, Rousey obviously spent time with a belt as she was the Raw Women’s Champion for over 200 days. However, she also has been critical of pro wrestling fans and of the WWE schedule since she last appeared at WrestleMania 35 nearly three years ago.

While it remains to be seen if Rousey will return, that would be the type of big surprise that the company likes to pull out for this show every year. The bigger question, though, would be that, if Ronda Rousey does resurface in WWE once again at the Royal Rumble, what will that mean for her and the women’s division moving forward.
