The MLB world has been racing to congratulate David Ortiz on his Hall of Fame call, and the long list includes Alex Rodriguez.

Boston Red Sox legend David Ortiz is living his best life right now. Earlier in the week, Ortiz got the call he’s been dreaming off, as he was informed he’s headed to Cooperstown to be inducted into the Hall of Fame.

One of the most lethal hitters of his generation, Ortiz will go down as one of the best designated hitters baseball fans have ever seen. People have been showing him plenty of love since his big moment arrived, and this includes the one and only Alex Rodriguez.

Despite the two being former rivals while Rodriguez was suiting up for the New York Yankees, Rodriguez and Ortiz have always had a tremendous amount of respect for one another. They’re incredibly close and the friendship has only gotten stronger over the years.

For Ortiz, the pride of Santo Domingo in the Dominican Republic, he started off his career with the Minnesota Twins in 1997 and ended up joining the Red Sox in 2003. In his 14 years in Boston, Ortiz was an All-Star 10 times and he helped the team win the World Series in three different campaigns.

For his career, he hit 541 homers and recorded 1,768 RBI. If it weren’t for Seattle Mariners Hall of Famer Edgar Martinez, there’d be no discussion on who the best DH of all time is. These two are the class of the position.

Now, Ortiz will be ready to join Martinez in Cooperstown. Rodriguez couldn’t be happier for his friend and his feelings are shared by millions of others out there.
