WWE Royal Rumble predictions, match card, preview: Who wins the Rumble?

The WWE Royal Rumble event takes place on Saturday, Jan. 29 live from The Dome at America’s Center in St. Louis, Mo. Here is the card for the show and our predictions for each match.
The start of WrestleMania season kicks off on Saturday, Jan. 29 with the 2022 WWE Royal Rumble event live in St. Louis, MO. All eyes are, of course, going to be on the 30-man and 30-woman Royal Rumble matches, with the winner earning themselves main event, championship matches at WrestleMania 38 in Arlington, Texas.
Besides the two battle royals, there are some huge matches on the card. Roman Reigns defends his Universal Championship against former Shield partner Seth “Freakin'” Rollins. Brock Lesnar and Bobby Lashley clash for the WWE Championship in a dream match. Becky Lynch looks to continue her reign as RAW Women’s Championship against Doudrop. Additionally, Edge and Beth Phoenix team up to face The Miz and Maryse.
The match card is set, but who will emerge victorious? We take a crack at it with our predictions.
WWE Royal Rumble predictions, picks for every match
Edge and Beth Phoenix vs. The Miz and Maryse
Edge was drafted to RAW in the WWE Draft, and after teasing some potential dream matches, The Miz interrupted to start their feud. At Day 1, Edge defeated The Miz in their match, which featured appearances from their real-life wives, Beth Phoenix and Maryse, respectively.
In the lead-up, Maryse hit Phoenix in the back with a brick. The “Grit Couple” got revenge by crashing Maryse’s birthday celebration on the Jan. 24 episode of RAW, which featured the destruction of presents, the birthday cake and an entire security team.
As for who wins, you have to give the edge, no pun intended, to Edge and Phoenix.
Winners: Edge and Beth Phoenix
WWE Raw Women’s Championship Match: Becky Lynch (c) vs. Doudrop
Becky Lynch has held onto the RAW Women’s Championship ever since she exchanged titles with Charlotte Flair during that infamous SmackDown segment. She initially won the SmackDown Women’s Championship after defeating Bianca Belair in a matter of seconds at SummerSlam. Since then, she has defended her championship against Belair, Sasha Banks and Liv Morgan.
Now, Lynch has a new challenger in Doudrop, after she defeated Belair and Morgan in a triple threat match, No. 1 contenders match. The former Piper Niven presents herself as a true challenge for Lynch, as evidenced during her time between RAW and NXT UK.
This should be a great match, but with WrestleMania on the horizon, it is hard to see Lynch dropping the title before then.
