Best Alabama football players under Nick Saban: 19. Jonah Williams

Jonah Williams was one of the best offensive linemen in the SEC during his time (2017-18). This is a conference with massive men on every team. Of all of the massive men, Jonah Williams stood out from the crowd. Standing just under 6’5 and north of 300 lbs will make you stand out in a crowd for sure.

Williams was given the right tackle spot as a freshman. This is extremely rare for a freshman lineman to take a spot in Saban’s offense, let alone someone taking a tackle spot. Williams was an incredible talent who showed up from day one. He’s also an incredible worker, getting a reputation as a film junkie in his first season.

During his sophomore campaign, Williams became one of the best offensive linemen in the country. He was named to the first-team All-SEC. He was also named as a second and third-team All-American depending on the publication. It was clear he was right on the cusp of greatness at his position. He had a ridiculous 98.6 success rate in his second year.

Over his career, Williams was the frontman for 17 100-yard rushing games. He became a unanimous All-American in his final year in Tuscaloosa. He didn’t allow a sack the entire season, and he only allowed three pressures despite constantly facing NFL-level talent on the defensive line. Williams was a stud and one of the best linemen ever recruited by Saban. He was a monster up front. At the peak of his powers, he was perfect on the left side.
