30 best Alabama football players to play for Nick Saban

Best Alabama football players under Nick Saban: 25. Bryce Young
Bryce Young is already a Heisman Trophy winner, and he is the favorite to win it again. That would make him only the second person to ever win the trophy twice, and it could guarantee Young’s spot at the top of this list in the future. For now, he’s sitting here as he had one of the great seasons for a quarterback in Crimson Tide history.
Again, this past season was supposed to be a “rebuilding” year for the Crimson Tide, especially on offense. In two years, they lost Jaylen Waddle, DeVonta Smith, Jerry Jeudy and Henry Ruggs III at the wide receiver position. They also lost Najee Harris. That is an insane amount of talent at the skills position, but Young was primed to make stars out of his skill group. Brian Robinson Jr. was awesome. Jameson Williams and John Metchie was the new one-two punch at the wide receiver position.
Young threw 21 touchdowns and just four interceptions against ranked teams during his Heisman season. This includes a five-touchdown performance to put Arkansas in their place while trying to hold onto their Top 25 ranking. His worst performance did come against Georgia in the National Championship Game, but this was his second game against the best defense in the country. They were going to adjust, and now he gets a chance to right his wrong in 2022.
Alabama is coming into the season with by far the best team in 2022. Georgia is the defending champ and Stetson Bennett is returning under center, but the Bulldogs will lose a lot of talent at most positions, and they don’t have the immediate recruits to replace them like Alabama. If Young can win a second Heisman Trophy and win a National Championship, it will be hard to argue against him being first on this list.
