Tampa Bay Buccaneers ownership, head coach Bruce Arians and general manager Jason Licht all released official statements about Tom Brady retiring from the NFL.

After only two years together, Tom Brady certainly made a profound impact on the Tampa Bay Buccaneers organization.

From the Glazers Family, to head coach Bruce Arians, to general manager Jason Licht, all three parties released official statements on Tuesday to say how much they appreciated and respected Brady for what he did for their organization. Tampa Bay won its first Super Bowl since 2002 in 2020 and its first NFC South title this past year since 2007 with Brady as their star quarterback.

This is Arians’ statement about Brady calling it a career. “He set a standard and helped create a culture that took our team to the mountaintop.”

Brady may have spent the bulk of his illustrious NFL career with the New England Patriots, winning six Super Bowls playing quarterback for Bill Belichick over a 20-year span. However, he did not mention his former team once in his lengthy retirement post on Instagram. For that reason, he is unlikely to retire a Patriot. Regardless, he goes out on good teams in Tampa Bay.

What Brady did in his two years with the Buccaneers can never be overlooked. He took a losing organization and made it nationally relevant, albeit for only a short time. His boyhood idol Joe Montana did similar things in his two-year run with the Kansas City Chiefs. Fate would have, Brady would do better in his two-year stint with the Buccaneers than the San Francisco 49ers legend.
