1. See if Knicks will pair Obi Toppin or Miles McBride in Julius Randle deal

Alright, this one might get some people fired up, but the New York Knicks are having some real buyer’s remorse after signing Julius Randle to an extension this offseason. He has been much, much worse, and the Knicks look bad overall. The Spurs have all that cap space next season, but a Randle deal would take up a lot of that. He’s set to make $26 million next season, as his extension only begins. He has four years total on that deal.

Randle looks timid this year. He’s almost ornery at times. He’s snapped at the fanbase, and it’s clear he’s happy to let R.J. Barrett take over the offense. The Knicks would love to dump Randle to any team that is willing to take on that contract. The Spurs can take the deal. Popovich could also probably fix Randle. However, when it comes to value, Randle has none. The Spurs should ask for an exciting piece in return.

The Knicks have two very exciting pieces that aren’t really being used by Tom Thibideau. Miles McBride has been crushing the G League this season. He’s been a star for the Westchester Knicks, and he’s a scoring machine. He just doesn’t get any time when he’s with the NBA Knicks. He should get time, he just doesn’t.

Then, there is Obi Toppin. The Knicks definitely thought they had a high-upside play when they drafted him eighth overall two years ago. Toppin has started zero games this year, and in their most recent game, he played four minutes despite scoring six points. The Knicks are the beautiful mess we’re used to, and the NBA feels normal again. It’s time for the Spurs to offer them a chance at relief, but it will come at a hefty price.
