2. Matthew Stafford, Rams quarterback

Quarterbacks really do get all the glory, don’t they? 11 of the last 15 Super Bowl MVP winners have all been plying their trade under center and, as the starting quarterback for the favored Rams, Stafford is the likely favorite to win MVP honors.

What a story that would be. It took Stafford 13 seasons in the NFL to finally tally his first playoff win, after three failed attempts in 12 seasons with the Detroit Lions. Now, Stafford is on the verge of winning his first Super Bowl and has been lights out in the playoffs, completing 72 percent of his passes and throwing six touchdown passes in the process.

1. Joe Burrow, Bengals quarterback

The easiest place to start is with Burrow. The Bengals’ second-year quarterback is operating on another plane of existence at the moment and we’re lucky enough to just be along for the ride. Burrow is completing 68.8 percent of his passes in the postseason and averaging 280 passing yards per game in his first appearance in the postseason.

His blend of pocket awareness, elite decision-making, and cool as a cucumber attitude was built for this moment. The Bengals go as Burrow goes, and if they pull off an upset on Sunday, look for “Joe Brr” to be holding that Super Bowl MVP award at the end of the game.
