Ja’Marr Chase and the Cincinnati Bengals came tantalizingly close to winning Super Bowl 56 and the rookie wideout’s tweet summed up every fan’s feelings.

With just minutes left on the clock, it seemed as if the Cincinnati Bengals were on their way to capturing the first Super Bowl win in franchise history after having lost their previous two tries in the 1980s. Matthew Stafford and Cooper Kupp, however, had other plans.

A late touchdown and then an ill-fated drive to try and tie or take the lead in the final minute led to the third Bengals loss in Super Bowl history. It was tough to see a team that was so easy to love with Joe Burrow, Ja’Marr Chase, C.J. Uzomah and many other characters fall just short.

And after the game, Chase pretty perfectly summed up the collective feeling among Bengals fans after the game.

That’s really all you can say about the Cincinnati loss on Sunday night at SoFi Stadium. The team that had overcome the odds time and again, particularly in the playoffs, fell just short of doing it once more in the 23-20 loss.

Chase and the Bengals have nothing to hang their heads over, though. This is a team that went from the cellar of the NFL standings in 2020 to making a Super Bowl appearance. The future is clearly extremely bright for the future with Burrow, Chase and the rest of this group.

And for the rookie wide receiver, he capped off an electric first NFL season that saw him break records with a strong performance on the big stage. Though the loss might sting now, though, he and the Bengals figure to be the newest player in the mix of the loaded AFC moving forward after what they showed this year.
