2022 NFL mock draft: Super Bowl edition after the Rams win it all
By Brad Weiss
What is going on with the Arizona Cardinals? Apparently, there is a rift between star quarterback Kyler Murray and the organization, and he has removed all team-related posts from his social media. That is something to keep an eye on, but he should be back in 2022, and the Cardinals should be a playoff team again.
With pick No. 23 overall, they should look to the defensive side of the ball, as J.J. Watt is up there in age, and they need some youth coming off the edge. George Karlaftis is a talented edge rusher who plays with a high motor and would learn a lot from Watt early in his career.
The Dallas Cowboys decided that Mike McCarthy would come back for another go-around as head coach, this after winning the NFC East, though losing in the Wild Card round. Dan Quinn was also brought back after getting some head coaching interviews, so the watch is on as to whether he ends up replacing McCarthy if the team falters early on.
Here, the Cowboys look to use their No. 24 overall pick on the defensive line, and Devonte Wyatt is another guy who had a tremendous Senior Bowl week. He is solid against the run and can get pressure in the backfield, making him one of the premier defensive tackles in this draft class.
The Buffalo Bills are a team that could challenge for a Super Bowl berth next season, as quarterback Josh Allen has emerged as a star for the franchise. He is their best quarterback since Jim Kelly, and if they continue to stack talent around him, this team is not going anywhere.
With pick No. 25 overall, the Bills look to bring in more talent at wide receiver, and Treylon Burks would be an excellent addition alongside Stefon Diggs. Allen took another big step forward in his development in 2021, and with Burks in the fold, you have to believe he is only going to get better.
