Top 10 favorites for Super Bowl 57: Chiefs, Bills lead the way
1. Super Bowl 57 favorites – Kansas City Chiefs
All roads to the Lombardi Trophy will (again) run through Kansas City. Having the NFL’s best player in quarterback Patrick Mahomes certainly helps as the Chiefs seek to win their second Super Bowl title in a four-year span.
While it feels like the Chiefs are always at the top of the heap, they have squandered a golden opportunity to win multiple Super Bowls already. Kansas City has hosted the AFC Championship Game four years in a row and won just one Lombardi Trophy, which should put a chip on the shoulder of everyone heading into the 2022 season.
There are a few key free-agent decisions to make, including ones on left tackle Orlando Brown and safety Tyrann Mathieu, but the Chiefs do have the benefit of being able to generate enough salary cap space to bring both back if they choose. Having one of the most talented rosters in the NFL is also a boon as few teams can match the star power of Mahomes, Tyreek Hill, Travis Kelce and Chris Jones as building blocks.
It feels redundant to keep picking the Chiefs as the Super Bowl favorite but their regular-season track record proves they will be right in the hunt as long as Mahomes is under center. Kansas City has everything it needs to add another Lombardi Trophy to their trophy case if they live up to their full potential.
