2. Super Bowl 57 favorites – Buffalo Bills

Few teams appeared more dangerous down the stretch than the Bills, who wiped out the New England Patriots on Super Wild Card Weekend before losing one of the greatest games in NFL history to the Chiefs in the Divisional Round. Debates over what the Bills should have done in the final 13 seconds of regulation and the overtime rules will linger for years, but the bigger concern here is the psychological impact a loss like this could have on Buffalo.

A loss as dramatic as that one can either create a mental roadblock that is impossible to overcome or rally a group together in an “us against the world” mentality. The Bills are surely hoping the latter happens since their roster is as talented as any in the NFL at this point.

Josh Allen’s emergence as a superstar should ease concerns about losing offensive coordinator Brian Daboll to the New York Giants’ head coaching gig. Quarterbacks coach Ken Dorsey is stepping up to become Buffalo’s new offensive coordinator, maintaining valuable continuity at a critical point in the Bills’ journey.

The salary cap situation is also manageable for Buffalo since they are just shy of $5 million over the cap, which should enable them to make a few moves to get under the threshold and tweak the roster around the edges. The Bills remain one of the NFL’s best teams and could very easily win their first Super Bowl next season.
