Red Sox rumors: Boston should re-sign Kyle Schwarber

Is it possible the most obvious move the Red Sox should make has been staring us in the face this whole time? It feels like a no-brainer that Boston should re-sign Kyle Schwarber.

You might be thinking that if Schwarber or the Red Sox were really interested in re-uniting, that a deal would’ve come to fruition prior to the MLB lockout. And there could be some truth to that. But Schwarber knows he’ll get paid and is right for seeking out a deal that will make him the most.

There’s no denying the impact Schwarber had on the Red Sox upon his arrival, transforming an already potent lineup and adding length to it. His huge postseason nearly catapulted Boston to a World Series appearance in 2021, something not even their fans could’ve imagined for last season.

We all saw how well Schwarber fit in with Boston, with the fanbase even endearing him with the nickname “Kyle from Waltham”, a suburb of the city. He was critical to the Red Sox’ playoff push in 2021, and he would be critical to one in 2022, as well.
