4. Top free-agent fits for Davante Adams – Indianapolis Colts

Let’s stay in the AFC South and pair Adams with the Indianapolis Colts, a franchise in desperate need of a No. 1 receiver. T.Y. Hilton is nearing the end of his career while youngster Michael Pittman is better served to be the No. 2 behind a star like Adams, who would fit in nicely on a team ready to win right now.

The Colts also have plenty of cap space at the moment, entering the winter with nearly $38 million to spend, so they can give Adams a handsome contract if he is open to that possibility. There is also some intrigue with Indianapolis’ quarterback situation since reports have started to circulate that they will look to move on from Carson Wentz after just one season.

If Wentz is no longer in the mix, the Colts could become an attractive destination for Rodgers since they are built to win right now and play in the AFC’s weakest division. The potential for Rodgers to insist on a trade to the Colts would open the door for Adams to follow him to Indianapolis, giving the Colts a talent infusion at two major areas of need to make them top Super Bowl contenders.

If this is just a money play, Indianapolis is also more likely to appeal to Adams than Jacksonville since they are much closer to playoff contention than the Jaguars. Adams has been on the doorstep of the Super Bowl several times and undoubtedly wants to land in a place where he has a shot to win a ring.
