3. Top free-agent fits for Davante Adams – Pittsburgh Steelers

This is another spot that combines the potential for Adams to get paid and play with Rodgers in 2022. The Steelers are in need of a new quarterback now that Ben Roethlisberger has retired, making them a prime player for Rodgers if he insists on getting traded.

Pittsburgh is a perennial contender, which should appeal to both Rodgers and Adams as they look to win a Super Bowl ring. The combination of a ready-made defense along with good complementary pieces on offense like running back Najee Harris and wide receiver Diontae Johnson would certainly be intriguing for the pair of Packers’ stars.

The other benefit of going to Pittsburgh is that the Steelers have plenty of salary-cap space as they enter the winter more than $31 million under the threshold. Adams may have to take a bit less money than he could get in Jacksonville but he would still be handsomely paid to play for a contender.

This fit, like the other teams on the list outside of Jacksonville, is dependent on Rodgers deciding that he wants to play in Pittsburgh. The Steelers are one of the few organizations that can afford to pay the star duo and have the assets to trade to Green Bay for Rodgers, making this a situation worth monitoring.
