The Dolphins’ offensive line needs to get better fast, which makes it the most obvious area to target in free agency.

Miami gave up 40 sacks and managed just 3.5 yards per carry, which was second-worst in the NFL in 2021. Pro Football Focus graded the line at the bottom of the league.

Injuries and lineup shuffling no doubt played a part in the struggles. Still, the future for several young prospects is in doubt.

It would all be a lot easier if the Dolphins could land a franchise left tackle in free agency…someone like Terron Armstead.

Armstead is a three-time Pro Bowler who has been with the Saints since they drafted him in 2013. He’s entering free agency as one of the biggest fish on the market. Of course, that means he’ll have plenty of suitors and cost a pretty penny.

It would be a risk for Miami to invest something like $100 million in a tackle who has a history of injury issues. It could also come with huge rewards as he’d instantly upgrade the offensive line like no one else.
