2022 NFL Draft: Dallas Cowboys 7-round mock
Dallas Cowboys Mock Draft – Fifth Round
Wide receiver is a position of strength for the Cowboys but Michael Gallup is set to test free agency while there have been rumors that Dallas could cut or trade Amari Cooper to free up salary cap room. With few certainties in the receiver room outside of ascending star CeeDee Lamb, don’t be shocked if the Cowboys invest a Day 2 or 3 pick at receiver.
Landing a guy like Austin here would be a stroke of genius for the Cowboys, particularly if Gallup leaves in free agency. A classic slot receiver, Austin’s speed would cause problems for nickel corners and allow Dallas to play Lamb on the outside.
Dallas Cowboys Mock Draft – Sixth Round
Adding depth at linebacker always makes sense for the Cowboys, especially with Leighton Vander Esch set to test free agency. Vander Esch should be a guy Dallas looks to resign but his injury issues mean that his backups should expect to be used frequently.
This is where Chenal, a 6-foot-2 linebacker from Wisconsin, comes in. Chenal can fly to the ball and was well-regarded for his leadership on the Badgers’ defense, making him a steal if he lasts this long into the draft.
Dallas Cowboys Mock Draft – Seventh Round
The Cowboys do not currently own a seventh-round pick after trading theirs to the Houston Texans for Eli Ankou in November of 2020.
