Goldberg is set to face Roman Reigns for the Universal Championship at WWE Elimination Chamber on Saturday, Feb. 19.

Following the WWE Royal Rumble, Fightful Select reported that Goldberg would be making an “imminent” return to the company. Sure enough, he appeared on the Feb. 4 edition of Friday Night SmackDown to challenge Roman Reigns for the Universal Championship. That match was then confirmed to be happening at the Elimination Chamber event on Saturday, Feb. 19 in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia.

With Goldberg set to compete, some casual viewers may be wondering how old he is?

How old is Goldberg?

As of this writing, he is 55-years-old.

How long has Goldberg been wrestling?

There were two stints that Goldberg has had in wrestling. His first stint starting in 1997 until 2004 and his current tenure that began in 2016.

Goldberg, a former college football and NFL defensive lineman, made the transition to professional wrestling. He made his debut with World Championship Wrestling in 1997 and competed there until they were purchased by WWE in 2001. Goldberg made his WWE debut in April 2003 and remained there until WrestleMania 20 in 2004.

His match against Brock Lesnar in 2004 was his last wrestling match until he made his return in 2016. At Survivor Series 2016, Goldberg defeated Lesnar in less than two minutes. In his second tenure, Goldberg has had a total of 11 matches prior to his match with Reigns at Elimination Chamber. Four of those matches were for the Universal Championship and two were for the WWE Championship.

When will Goldberg retire?

It is unknown when exactly Goldberg will retire. What is known is that his match with Reigns is scheduled to be his last match on his current contract. He confirmed that he had one more match on his deal during a December interview on the “Pat McAfee Show.”

Goldberg posted a video on Instagram on Thursday saying that his match at Elimination Chamber is “possibly [his] final mission in the wrestling world.”
