2. RB Kenyan Drake

The second of the Raiders’ three-first-round draft choices in 2019 has been extremely productive when available. Former University of Alabama running back Josh Jacobs has started 42-of-43 games in three seasons. He’s logged 200-plus carries in each of those years. It add up to a combined 732 attempts for 3,087 yards and 28 touchdowns.

This past season, he missed two games for the second straight year. But he also saw his attempts drop from 273 to 217, although he did catch a career-best 54 passes for 348 yards. Regardless of who was toting the rock, only four teams in the league finished with fewer yards on the ground than the Raiders.

Last offseason, the organization looked to add a little depth to their running back corps and give them a little insurance policy in the form of versatile Kenyan Drake. He amassed 63 carries for 254 yards and two scores this past season, plus added 30 catches for 291 yards and one touchdown. But he missed the final five games of the season and the playoff clash with the Bengals.

Meanwhile, another 2021 free-agent addition was Peyton Barber, released by Washington before the start of the season. He finished with 212 yards and two scores on 55 attempts but is slated to become a free-agent in mid-March.

Don’t be stunned to see new Raiders’ general manager part ways with Drake while re-signing Barber – giving the offense a physical 1-2 punch out of the backfield.
