The Indianapolis Colts could look to give Mo Alie-Cox quite the bump in salary

While the Colts have a ton of their players hitting free agency, it would serve them to let most of them walk. This team needs to get it right after failing miserably down the stretch. Though there is no reason to point fingers, last year’s team was way too talented to miss out on the postseason, but here we are. However, one player who has earned new contract with is tight end Mo Alie-Cox.

Alie-Cox may not be the best tight end hitting free agency, but he fits into what Reich wants to do with his Colts offense. While he has not started the bulk of the games since he has been in Indianapolis, Cox has averaged 16 games played a season in the last three years. Not only has he improved as a pass-catcher with each season, but he has become a player the Colts can count on.

Though Indianapolis has been nothing short of a turnstile at the quarterback position for the last half decade, the Colts are the first NFL team to believe in him. Alie-Cox might have more of a robust market in his NFL free agency than most people will realize. However, few teams are in as good of a cap position to pay him a slight premium in his free agency than the Colts this offseason.

If the Colts want to maintain some level of continuity in the passing game, then re-sign Alie-Cox.
