WR. 1. 55. player. Scouting Report. Pick Analysis. Pittsburgh Steelers. JuJu Smith-Schuster

JuJu Smith-Schuster needs a change of scenery and the Colts need a receiver

While he might want to stay with the Pittsburgh Steelers, it is time for JuJu Smith-Schuster to find somewhere else to play. He is coming off an injury-riddled season and is yet another year removed from his only Pro Bowl campaign. With the Steelers looking for a new quarterback to replace Ben Roethlisberger, now would be the time for Smith-Schuster to go find a new team.

What makes the Colts an interesting fit is they are not exactly loaded at wide receiver to begin with. It has been a long time since T.Y. Hilton was a Pro Bowl-level player. He too is hitting free agency. While Hilton could return, but Smith-Schuster is the younger player with way more upside and is playing with a massive chip on his shoulder. He will likely look to prove the Steelers wrong.

Even if most former Steelers wide receivers do not pan out once leaving Pittsburgh, Smith-Schuster could be the rare exception. Those other Steelers wideouts of note still had a quality Big Ben rifling them the pigskin. Smith-Schuster has not had good quarterback play since that 2018 NFL season. He may want to get the bag this offseason, but he might settle for a multi-year deal.

While Smith-Schuster is a high-variance free agent, the Colts have to take gambles this offseason.
