Dalvin Cook has hilariously simple message for Aaron Rodgers
By Scott Rogust
Let’s just say that Minnesota Vikings running back Dalvin Cook hopes Aaron Rodgers leaves the Green Bay Packers.
Late Monday night, Aaron Rodgers had the NFL world buzzing after he posted a lengthy statement on Instagram. Of course, many wondered if it was a hint regarding what his status would be for the 2022 season and whether it mean he was leaving the Green Bay Packers. Fans of the other NFC North teams were hoping that would be the case, and so did a star on the Minnesota Vikings.
During an appearance on Sports on DirectTV, Vikings running back Dalvin Cook provided a hilarious message to Rodgers — leave the division.
"“I’m hoping he goes to Denver or something like that. Aaron you hear this? Just go to Denver or something, said Cook (h/t Adam Patrick of the Viking Age). “Just go on and get out of the division and let us get our division back. That’ll be okay. Thank you.“I don’t care where he goes, just get out of the [NFC North]. Just stay out of the [NFC North], take Davante Adams with you, and y’all go do your thing wherever y’all are going to go, and just let the men in purple [get] their division back.”"
Dalvin Cooks hilariously asks Aaron Rodgers to leave the Packers
Not only does Cook want Rodgers to leave the NFC North, but he is also asking him to take Packers star wide receiver Davante Adams with him. As Cook says, that would pave the way for the Vikings to retake the division.
Rodgers made waves with his Instagram post on Monday night, but it turned out to be nothing. When appearing on “The Pat McAfee Show” on Tuesday, Rodgers said that the message was just meant to show gratitude to those mentioned in the post and that he has yet to make a decision regarding his future.
The Packers are reportedly all-in on ensuring Rodgers returns to Green Bay next season. Yet, they will have quite the challenge, as they are $48 million over the salary cap threshold entering the 2022 league year. They will have to get under the cap to fit in Rodgers’ deal and to potentially re-sign Adams, who is set to be an unrestricted free agent at the start of the upcoming league year.
If Rodgers is to leave for another team or retirement, then the NFC North is wide open for anyone’s taking. Cook hopes that Rodgers ultimately exits Green Bay for good.
