Detroit Lions Mock Draft – Fifth Round

Cordell Volson. 177. 50. Scouting Report. Pick Analysis. OT. North Dakota State Bison. player

At this point of the draft, it is all about finding depth and potential value in the latter stages. The Lions have four day-three picks in 2022. With their fifth-round pick coming in at No. 177 overall, look for them to use it on a player like North Dakota State offensive tackle Cordell Volson. If this pick does not get you fired up, Motor City Dan Campbell is now coaching a freaking bison, man!

Detroit Lions Mock Draft – Sixth Round

Look for the Lions to address defense at seemingly all levels and position groups in this draft. Again, this is all about establishing an identity for themselves as a tough football team. One player who could be available to them with their first of two sixth-round picks this year is Arizona State Sun Devils linebacker Darien Butler. He is coming from a very pro-focused program over in Tempe.

With the Lions’ second sixth-round pick, perhaps they go with one of Hutchinson’s college teammates in Michigan safety Brad Hawkins? It was that side of the ball that got the job done up in Ann Arbor last year. While Hutchinson is the clear franchise cornerstone the Lions are adding in this draft, adding a familiar face in Hawkins could help make playing in Detroit feel right at home.

Detroit Lions Mock Draft – Seventh Round

232. 50. Scouting Report. Pick Analysis. CB. Kyler McMichael. North Carolina Tar Heels. player

And with the Lions’ final pick of the 2022 NFL Draft, look for them to potentially add a cornerback to satisfy their last draft need by picking someone like Kyler McMichael out of North Carolina. Though the Tar Heels had a down season last year, McMichael did play for the iconic Mack Brown at Chapel Hill. With the Lions rebuilding, there will be plenty of opportunities for him to compete.

With nine overall selections, the Lions are all to solve all of their major draft needs in this mock.
