According to ESPN’s Dianna Russini, quarterback Aaron Rodgers is expected to make a decision on his future soon.

Quarterback Aaron Rodgers nearly broke the internet on Monday night when he posted a lengthy statement thanking his Green Bay Packers teammates. Yet, Rodgers revealed that it was not related to his playing future with the team, and that he has yet to make a decision.

According to ESPN’s Dianna Russini on Thursday, Rodgers is expected to inform the Packers of his decision soon. Additionally, the Packers have received multiple trade offers from teams interested in acquiring the four-time NFL MVP.

Aaron Rodgers expected to inform Packers of decision on playing future soon

Of course, this all stems from last offseason, where reports indicated that Rodgers wanted a trade off of the team and to play elsewhere. After a holdout, Rodgers eventually returned but agreed to a restructuring of his contract that allowed both parties to evaluate things in the 2022 offseason.

After the drama-filled offseason, the Packers finished the regular season with the best record in the NFL and clinched home-field advantage throughout the playoffs. That was thanks in part to the play of Rodgers, who netted the NFL MVP award for the second consecutive year. Despite the success, the Packers were eliminated quickly by the San Francisco 49ers in the Divisional Round.

With the NFL world waiting for his decision, multiple reports said that the Packers were willing to go all-in to secure Rodgers for next season.

In regards to the Instagram post earlier in the week, Rodgers said on The Pat McAfee Show that it was simply a message of gratitude to those in his life. At the start of the interview, Rodgers stressed that he would not be announcing a decision.

The Packers will wait for Rodgers’ official answer when he makes it. If he wants to play elsewhere, Green Bay does have offers on the table.
