2. Re-sign Davante Adams

The Packers have 24 players entering some form of free agency, but the most important one is star wide receiver Davante Adams.

2021 was a great year for Adams, as he recorded 123 receptions for 1,553 yards on 169 targets, all of which were career-highs. Additionally, he recorded 11 touchdowns.

The fact of the matter is that Adams is due to be one of the highest-paid wide receivers in the league. But from the sounds of it, the Packers already have a plan in place to secure Adams for at least the 2022 season.

According to ESPN’s Rob Demovsky, the Packers are likely to place the franchise tag on Adams before he has the chance to hit free agency. That is not the best of news for Adams, as that takes away his opportunity to listen to offers from other teams. Yet, the Packers can still find a way to make him one of the top-paid players of his position to lock him in long-term.

If the Packers convince Rodgers to stay for another year (or more), they need to keep his top target. What would make things better, however, is to sign him to a lengthy contract by the July deadline.
