The New Orleans Saints have quickly created more than $26 million in cap space with a pair of brilliant moves.

Entering the offseason, there was plenty of concern for New Orleans Saints fans in terms of the team’s salary cap issues. With that said, the front office has wasted no time in hitting the ground running to fix things.

They’ve done so in a big way this week, as they’ve restructured the deals for both wideout Michael Thomas and offensive tackle Ryan Ramczyk. With this, New Orleans has gone out and created $26.2 million in cap space in the blink of an eye.

Saints fans are hoping Michael Thomas can have a big 2022

Not only did the Saints create the cap space, but this locks in Michael Thomas for the 2022 campaign with the team. There had been plenty of trade rumors, especially after the star receiver didn’t play a single game in 2021 due to injury.

Now, though, Thomas is hopeful that he can have a big-time, bounce-back season starting in September for this team. Thomas being able to get back to his old ways will be major for this team, as New Orleans is getting ready for the post Sean Payton era.

Earlier this month, the team officially hired Dennis Allen as new head coach. With so many moving parts for the Saints, you just knew it was going to be a busy offseason in terms of not only restructuring contracts, but also taking a look at key playmakers in free agency as well.

While both of these moves are quite head-turning for New Orleans, this is only the start of things. It’s going to be a busy few months, and the Saints supporters really can’t wait to see what’s next.
