Pete Carroll revealed that teams continue to try and trade for Russell Wilson, but the Seahawks aren’t sending him anywhere.

Seattle Seahawks fans can’t wait for all the Russell Wilson rumors to end, but those won’t stop until Week 1 arrives. Wilson has been adamant he’s happy in Seattle, while different trade speculation continues to rise.

On Wednesday, Pete Carroll had a message for all the fans worried Wilson would be shipped out of town: it’s not going to happen. Carroll said that while teams continue to call about Wilson, the Seahawks have let those teams know they’re not open for business.

The Seahawks won’t trade Russell Wilson this offseason

“At this time of year, there’s conversations about everybody. We’re talking about everybody,” Carroll said via Pro Football Talk. “And that’s commonplace for us to have conversations with teams about all of the players — particularly marquee players. And that’s not changed. It’s been the same every year we’ve been here. So it’s the same as it’s been. We have no intention of making any move there. But the conversations, John has to feel those — he always has. But nothing specific to that.”

There you have it. The Seahawks figure to receive more calls on Wilson leading up to the NFL Draft, but it seems pretty clear that Wilson will be leading out the Seattle offense come next season. The Seahawks will hope to bounce back in a major way in 2022 after really disappointing this past campaign.

Seattle missed the playoffs and ended up going 7-10. No one expected that to happen for this team, with the offense looking sluggish most of the year. It will be on Wilson to correct that, while Tyler Lockett and D.K. Metcalf will need to rise to the occasion as well.
