North Carolina basketball fans rushed to the streets after the Tar Heels upset Duke in Coach K’s final home game.
The Durham farewell didn’t go as planned for the Duke Blue Devils and Mike Krzyzewski on Saturday. North Carolina tripped to Cameron Indoor Stadium and put on a show in its 94-81 win over No. 4 Duke.
This is one of the best rivalries in the game, and UNC fans wanted nothing more than the team to spoil Coach K’s last home game of his career. That mission was accomplished, and fans celebrated in style back in Chapel Hill after the final whistle.

North Carolina fans celebrating the upset over Duke was great to see
The UNC faithful were hyped and it’s easy to understand why. These two teams hate each other, and they’ve treated us to some memorable showdowns over the years. Krzyzewski knows all too well about how the two schools feel about one another. Everyone at Duke had written the script of his final home game ending with a dominant win over UNC.
The Tar Heels had other ideas, as they outscored Duke 55-40 in the second half to record their head-turning victory.
My buddy dropped these in the group text a few minutes ago. Downtown Chapel Hill before, and after, UNC beat Duke tonight. Wow. pic.twitter.com/uUIbpWm8uz

Now, North Carolina will have plenty of confidence heading into the ACC Tournament. The Tar Heels will hope to surprise plenty of people in the NCAA tourney as well. Meanwhile for Duke, this was a step back, but the Blue Devils are still expected to be in the National Championship hunt.
It would be a special way for Krzyzewski to end things. For now, though, Duke has been humbled by their rivals. Seeing the North Carolina fans party in style too is only going to add to the sting of things.
