1. Garrett Wilson

Wilson is the player most often mocked to Cleveland in Round 1 for plenty of good reasons. He profiles as an explosive slot receiver whose talents will translate immediately to the NFL game. His inability to start on the outside also increases the chances of him being available to the Browns if they stay put at No. 13.

Modern NFL offenses know that slot receiver is no longer a luxury position. It’s an integral part of any prolific passing attack. Wilson’s ability to create separation in tight spaces combined with his ability to produce explosive gains with the ball in his hands makes him a great target for Cleveland in the first round.

If the Browns do take Wilson they need to design plays to get the ball in his hands in space. That’s the way they can get maximum production from the former Ohio State star. He should touch the ball on reverses and other designed runs in addition to his conventional catches.

Wilson needs work to become a more dangerous deep threat, but that should come with quality coaching at the next level. He’s got a chance to turn into one of the top-10 slot guys in the league if things break right. That makes him a great potential selection for the Browns at No. 13.
