New Orleans Saints

The Saints lived the sweet life with Drew Brees for over a decade. Now they’re dealing with the unwelcome reality of having zero certainty at the quarterback position.

They could bring back Jameis Winston or go after another available free agent like Teddy Bridgewater. They could swing for the fences and try to trade for Russell Wilson. They could try to work something out to bring in Jimmy Garappolo.

The options outside of Wilson, which is the most unrealistic, don’t sound particularly exciting.

Love is intriguing because New Orleans looked closely at Love during the 2020 NFL Draft process, per Eric Edholm of Yahoo Sports. They will have seen exactly what convinced the Packers to risk Rodgers’ ire to draft him.

He’d be supremely affordable and would allow the Saints more flexibility with the salary cap in the short term. They could look to build around him, banking on his potential to shine through once he gets the chance to play.
