Now, for the Seahawks’ biggest need of the offseason — cornerback. Seattle have their top two cornerbacks on the depth chart hitting free agency in Sidney Jones and D.J. Reed. Luckily for the Seahawks, they have money to spend and there are plenty of strong options to sign.

Perhaps the best is J.C. Jackson of the New England Patriots.

Jackson has shown throughout his career that he is one of the best corners in coverage in the league. That was evidenced this past season, his first without Stephon Gilmore on the roster. Jackson recorded 58 combined tackles, a league-high 23 defended passes and eight interceptions.

Perhaps the most impressive thing about Jackson’s season is that opposing quarterbacks have only completed 49.1-percent of their passes when targeting the corner, per Pro Football Reference.

Jackson is hitting free agency after the Patriots opted against placing the franchise tag on him, and with that, he will cash in on a huge deal this offseason. Spotrac projects his market value to come in at $20.9 million in annual salary. The Seahawks should make signing Jackson a priority this offseason, he is that good.

Must Read. It sounds like Bobby Wagner will join a Seahawks rival in free agency. light
